Magical World of Ching Chou Kuik

This month over at Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook Page, they're having a challenge - World of Magic ... First, you'll need to become a member of the Facebook page, and then create any card you'd like with a magical theme to it - use your imagination.

I created a card using one of Ching Chou's beautiful images found in her Etsy Shop called Lil Bookworm Fairy

I colored her with Copics, sorry I didn't keep track this time, as I was
testing and re-doing, and going back when I wasn't satisfied.

I added diamond Stickles to her wings and then used my
clear Gelli Roll glitter pen for highlights here and there.

The sentiment is computer generated.
The paper is digital from Sweet Pea, I believe, with a brush overlay.
I printed this image fairly large, and didn't want to overwhelm her
because she's so pretty.

Here's a close up of the image:

Hope you like what I came up with and have a chance to head over to
Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook page, or her Etsy shop to see more lovely creations.
She's having a 15% sale through tomorrow, that you'll find on the Facebook page.

Have a wonderful day!

These are the colors we were to be inspired by:

And here is my card, created with Ching Chou Kuik's Green Moth Fairy.  You can find this and more over at Ching Chou's Etsy page.

She was colored with Copics.  Don't you just love the way her hair looks ?
Cardstock was Stampin Up; designer papers are from the now closed Bearly Mine Design.
I added some liquid pearls to the butterflies and finished off with a butterfly and grosgrain ribbon.

Here's a close up of the image:

Hope you like her as much as I do.

The Outlawz' Paper ala Mode 1-10-15

This week on The Outlawz' Paper ala Mode challenge, our prompt was to use a banner of any kind.  Our gracious sponsor was Rick St. Dennis.  I chose to use one of Rick's beautiful hat ladies, Deborah ...

I colored her with Copics and put some glossy accents on her beads and her headband.
Cardstock was from Stampin Up (mustard and rose red), and the designer papers are from Quakasu on Etsy.

I hand drew/cut the banner - can't believe I don't have a banner die ... after stamping the sentiment.

Here is a close up ...

Hope you have time to play in the challenge over at The Outlawz' Paper ala Mode challenge this week ...
Have a wonderful day!

New Releases at All Dressed Up

Hi, Collette here ... All Dressed Up has several new digital releases today, and "With Love" is among them.  This is my very first project for the design team ... I'm so excited!

I colored this with Copics, keeping the layers a little more simple.  I wanted the 3-dimensional perfume bottles to take center stage.

The sentiment is computer generated, and papers are Bearly Mine Designs' digital papers, no longer available.

Hope you enjoyed this, and have time to check out All Dressed Up Stamps and play along.  Remember to post your cards made using All Dressed Up images on the All Dressed Up Facebook page, as well.

Have a wonderful day!

Little Red Wagon - Sparkle and Shine

This is my first project as a member of the Little Red Wagon Challenges Design Team ... This week's challenge is "Sparkle and Shine" ...

]
The image is from Ching Chou Kuik's Etsy Shop, called "Wishing Star".
She was colored with Copics.
The stars were filled in with yellow Stickles.
On the background, I dotted some spots with colorless blender to give a
slightly mottled look, then put in diamond Stickles all around.
I also added some Wink of Stella's clear to the sleeve to give it a gauzy look IRL.

The background paper is digital paper from now-extinct Bearly Mine Designs.
I took some waste from a couple of dies and sponged the scalloped shapes with
Distress Ink's Tea Die, then added some more diamond Stickles at each
scallop for even more sparkle.

Here's a close up of the image.  Hope you can see all the sparkle
Hope you like my take on "Sparkle and Shine", and are able to
head over to Little Red Wagon for the challenge this week !

Have a wonderful day!

Ching Chou Kuik's Snow Drops

Today, I'd like to share with you the beautiful image, Snow Drops, from the lovely Ching Chou Kuik.  You can find this image in Ching Chou's Etsy shop.

I'm releasing this card over on the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook page today.

I love the way she turned out so soft, that I kept the layers very soft and muted as well.

I started of with digital papers in pink and blue, matted with Pirouette Pink and Bashful Blue from Stampin Up.  I sponged the outer edges of the paper and the image panel with Pink Pirouette.  I added a white paper doily and a corner heart punch, then put half pearls all around.  The tiny dots in her hair are liquid pearls.

Here's a close up of this sweet image.

Head over to the Etsy store where you can find loads of other Ching Chou Kuik images, as well as the Facebook page for more beautiful samples.

Have a wonderful day!

Saturday's Paper ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz 1-3-15

This week's Paper ala Mode Challenge over at The Outlawz involved making your own background paper.  Our sponsor this week was Bugaboo Stamps, and I used the image, "Jack and Diane" ...

For this challenge, I started with embossing a piece of Certainly Celery (SU) cardstock with the Cuttlebug "Stylized Flowers".
I then sponged the raised portions with SU inks
After this, I smoothed it with a bone folder to flatten the image and then ran it through the Cuttlebug "Argyle" folder
And then added some navy ink with a sponge before flattening it once again with the bone folder.
The next step was to stamp all over with a script background stamp in rose red (SU).

Here's the card, once again ...

and a close up of how it looked after the card was assembled ...

I haven't decided if I want to use this for an anniversary card, engagement card, or what, so I'm leaving it without a sentiment for now ...

Hope you have time to play along ...
would love to see what you come up with as a background.
Have a wonderful day!

Forever Girlzzz Shake if Off !

Here's yet another digital image from Krista at Saturated Canary.  This is called Forever Girlzzz, and they're from the New Year's 2015 Special Bundle set of 5 images.

I colored these with Copics and used digital papers from Quakasu on Etsy (pink background is Vintage Garden 2) and the purple papers are digitals from Bearly Mine Designs (no longer in business).  The pink die is from Spellbinders/Little Darlings called "Lovely View" and the corner (cut from purple dotted paper) is from La La Land.  I added the computer generated sentiment, a knotted grosgrain ribbon and a couple of pearls.  The glasses have glossy accents on them ... in hindsight, I wish I had left it off, but it is what it is ...

Here's a close up:

Just a Note from May

Another gorgeous digital image from Krista at Saturated Canary.  This image is called May and she's part of a bundle from the New Year's 2015 Special Bundle set of 5 images.

She was colored with Copics.  I distressed the edges of all the layers.  The background is paper from Michele R Designs (blue check) and the mini dots is from Bearly Mine Designs (closed their doors 12/31/14 due to the European VAT laws).  I added a strip of lace and a flourish.  The sentiment is from Paper Trey.

Here's a close up ...

Hope you like her ... I'm quite partial to the hair.
Hope everyone stayed safe on New Year's Eve ... have a wonderful day!
