The Stamping Boutique and Tiffany Doodles samples

Okay, so I lied - I had more to do today, lol. Or would that be yesterday, seeing as how it's now 1:13 am. I sat down at my stamp table with FULL INTENTIONS of straightening it up in preparation for Splitcoast Stampers' Wish RAK New Years' Cards for the Troops Challenge (what a mouthful) for tomorrow night, but needless to say - Shocker, I know - I got distracted.

I saw these images sitting there getting cold - they were after all printed last week! So I figured I'd color them up ... well ... I like to have the colors coordinate w/the rest of the color on the card ... 'nuff said, right?

This first one ended up being 5x7 because I didn't pay attention when I was enlarging this digital Cynthia image from The Stamping Boutique. She was colored with Copics then I added some diamond Stickles to her wings and dress, then some glossy accents to the hearts. This sentiment is from Unity's November KOM. Because I stamped with SU ink, I colored this with blender pen and marina mist ink, then added a bit of Stickles to the "CAKE" part. Jumbo circle was cut with Creative Memories cutting system thenm punched to thread the ribbon through. The sentiment was cut with Nesties. Background was actually handmade. I used white base then clear embossed vintage flourish then sponged Marina mist to pop up the embossed part. Went over some of it with the same flourish stamped in marina mist for texture.

This second card is a digital image from Tiffany Doodles. Tiffany's new storefront is opening up this Saturday - it will make it even easier to shop for her fun Digital images.  Make sure to check it out. Please go to her blog to see about the giveaways you can win for the next couple of days in honor of the new storefront. The digital image was fairly simple, so I jazzed up the card a bit more to compensate. The background paper is Japanese designer paper - lucsious! (where's my spell check?) After coloring the image with Copics, I used long oval Nestie then sponged inside with red. That red brad is 'hanging' the hearts up. The primas were colored with Copics (Misted first with alcohol then streaked R22, R24, R27 and set aside to dry - then added some lipstick Spica streaks for some sparkle). The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Full of Life set.

Here's another one from The Stamping Boutique - I love girly images - can you tell, lol? This was colored with Copics in BG72,75 and RV11, 13, 14 (if memory serves me correctly). I used the xacto to cut the scallop edges then added some cotton candy Stickles to the 'bunting' before matting on bayou - perfect match for those BG copics! The sentiment was computer generated.

This last one (for I am far too tired to even look in the direction of my stamp table) might be my favorite of the day - maybe because its restful to the eyes (at 1:29 am, now). This is from Tiffany Doodles, colored with Copics, again using the BG72, 75, 78 and RV11, 13, 14 combination. I did the same misting technique to color these primas then added streaks of clear glitter gel pen. Can you believe this brad is a perfect match to the baja breeze? Although on this pink flower, the green seems to fade out. This was my first card of the day - based on Splitcoast's challenge for today - Use Silver. The thread is silvery grey, the outer portion of brad is silver, and I don't know if you can tell, but I used a CM silver gel pen to create faux stitch lines around the sentiment and image panels so they'd shine. This is one of my favorite designer papers. I cut it down when I first got 4 sheets of it, now I'm running low - eek!

Anyway, thanks for taking another look in my closet.

Don't forget to check out Tiffany Doodles blogspot this Saturday to get the link to her new Store Front.

And if you're not doing anything else - check out Splitcoast Stampers' Wish RAK (Random Act of Kindness)New Years Challenges for the Troops - all cards will be sent to the troops via Operation Write Home.

Back in the Saddle

This first card measures 5.25 square.  Trying to get a handful of Valentine cards ready to send over to Operation Write Home before next week so they can get them in time.  This is a digital image from The Stamping Boutique colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Unity's November Kit of the Month stamped in Olive.  I added some glossy accents to the rose and AJ's buttons then some Stickles to the ribbon on the box of chocolates.  I love how the peppermint bakers twine looks with this olive button.

This card was made following Splitcoast Stampers color challenge this week - Olive, Navy and Daffodil.  The image from Stampin' Up's Waterfowl set was stamped in memento on white then colored with Copics before cutting apart.  I matted on Navy to give it a faux tile look then sponged around each panel with a bit of olive.  The background is the feather from the same set stamped in Navy on the daffodil.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts mini set that was circle punched & matted.  Perfect for a masculine card, I think.

This one is short and sweet - started off in one direction then realized I didn't follow the directions (oops, lol) so made it a fairly CAS - Clean and Simple - card.  The scroll image is another digital image from The Stamping Boutique with a computer generated sentiment.  I shaded the scroll with Copics then sponged the edges with tea dye ink.  The background papers have a leaf randomly stamped with durango ink.  Since I was leaning towards masculine, the border trim is a geometric shape.  Finished off with some chocolate felt brads.

My final card - for this upload anyway - was made with this week's Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge - have the image go outside the box.  This is a digital image from The Stamping Boutique colored in Copics - what else, wink-wink.  The sentiment is computer generated in a rose color.  I stamped a Penny Black flower randomly on the background panel - riding hood on the left and blush blossom on the right - before adding half pearls and the ivory satin ribbon.  This is another I'll be sending off to Operation Write Home.

So, whatcha think?
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year - Be safe.

Few more holiday Cards

Made a couple more holiday cards this morning.  This first one was made using a digital image from Tiffany Doodles' ornament set.  I made 2 and colored them with Copics.  Had to add a little bling to them, so I put some yellow faux rhinestones to sparkle it up a bit.  Love this Stampin' Up designer paper from their Blueberry Crisp collection.  I think that the soft yellow ribbon works perfect ... What do you think?

My second (through 15th) card is relatively simple.  I needed to make 14 of them for my cheerleader's, so I elected for a Clean and Simple version.  This also followed the Splitcoast Stampers color challenge for today:  Use Grey, Concord Grape (I don't have the ink, so used eggplant) and Marina Mist.  The branch is from their Oldie but Goodie Definitely Decorative Branch set.  The ornament is from Delightful Decorations.  First, I stamped the branch, ornament and little florettes.  I added the 'string' with gold gel pen and then ran the front of the card through the Stampin Up square lattice embossing folder and then sponged the edges with some more marina mist ink.  Not sure if it shows in the photograph, but once done, I added some white liquid applique to the top of the branches for a snow effect.  Love how quick and easy these were.

This third card was for the Clean and Simple challenge for this week - to follow a sketch done by Birgit (Biggan on Splitcoast Stampers) which can be found here.  It's very nearly one layer.  I used Post It's to block of the outer square on this daffodil delight cardstock, then sponged some certainly celery inside.  Took a Nesties circle negative to sponge the next circle in same ink.  I then took gold Spica and squiggle-traced around the edges for some sparkle before stamping the house in Garden Green.  The sentiment from Stampin Up's Cute & Curly was also stamped in garden green on daffodil before punching out with the label punch and popping up on dimensionals.  The card measures 5.25x5.25 square.

Finally, here are a smattering of some Christmas tags I made using digital images from The Stamping Boutique.  Love how you can reize these digital images to fit whatever project you're working on ... challenge is getting into the tiny lines of these smaller images.  Okay, so I had to pull my readers out for these.  I ran out of labels while wrapping, so whipped these up in the middle of the night.

Thanks for stopping by.
Always love to hear what you have to say.

Holiday Greetings

Just having a little bit of fun with some new images ... This first one is from Digital Pencil Too ... Love the vintage feel to this image of the Little Drummer Boy.  He was colored with Copics, trying to stay with muted colors.  I used the designer paper from Stampin Up called Deck the Halls.  Finished with some punched corners and some faux nail heads.

This second card was made using a digital image from The Stamping Boutique.  This cardinal was also colored with Copics.  The background paper is from JLJ Designs, digitally printed.  I added a white border punched cardstock for lace and wrapped red Bakers twine around it.  The sentiment is computer generated then matted on scalloped oval before adding red brads & popping the image and sentiment up on dimensionals.

Thanks for popping by ... Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season.

The Stamping Boutique treasures

This is one of Tracey's newest from The Stamping Boutique - The Fairies Frolic.  I used 3 challenges for this card - Splitcoaster's color challenge #300 - (ie: pick one of the previous color combinations, so I chose CC92 - red, blue and white) - as well as Copic Muskateers' December color challenge - surprise - red, blue and white - with the addition of a snowflake plus, Paper Playtime's challenge for yesterday - Snowflakes.

She was colored with Copics then I added some clear glitter gel to the little fairiy's wings then diamond Stickles to the big girl's wings and yellow stickles to the center of the "poinsietta's" (in this card, they are, anyway, lol).  Snowflake paper is digital from freedigitalscrapbook (dot) com; and border punched the white strip with an EK snowflake border punch before adding the ribbon & bow.

For this second card, I followed the Latte Lounge's Digital Paper Challenge #2.  JLJ Designs offered this free sample candy cane paper with a chance to win the paper pack.

The image is from The Stamping Boutique again, colored with copics.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up's All Year Cheer I, punched then threaded a ribbon through the slots, finishing with a few red rhinestones.

Getting too many Christmas cards piled up - will have to stash them for OWH next year.

Best Wishes!

Emboss Resist

Today's Splitcoast Stampers challenge - Technique Lovers - Emboss Resist.

Very sad day today.  A friend's husband passed last week and services are today.  Left behind two small children.  Please join me in saying a prayer for Kristy and her children, that they get through this most difficult time.

I used clear embossing powder then sponged rose all over.  Stamped parts of the tree around the edges in rose before adding the sentiment in espresso and using slot punch for the seam binding ribbon treatment.  Not shown, but inside the card, I used the other floral vine in rose then a sentiment in espresso. Stampin Up's Thoughts & Prayers set used here.

Stamped the large snowflakes with Versamark then clear embossed & sponged bashfull all over then stamped smaller snowflakes in marina mist and a couple in navy.  Took a negative punch and sponged the inside in marina mist before stamping sentiment in navy.  Sparkly ribbon finished off.  Used Stampin Up's Snow Burst for the background and Bells 'n Boughs for the sentiment.

Third card was made with same technique, same stamp set for the background, but used marina mist and navy to heavy sponge, leaving glowing area for the sentiments.  Finished with some blue bakers twine to keep it simple.  Background used Stampin Up's Snow Burst; Sentiments from Verve's Richly Blessed.

Give your family a hug and tell them you love them today.
Best Wishes,

Rubber & Digital Hugs to All ...

Friday Sketchers #131

Today's sketch at Friday Sketchers blog is being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique.  I love this paper from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses, so thought it'd be perfect ... The paper coordinates well.  I'm just not sure about my Christmas tree embellishments ... Hope it didn't put this one over the top.  I used my Creative Memories cutting system to partially cut out the image and mat then my Xacto to finish around the holly & base of the candlestick.

Here's a close up of the image showing the glossy accents added to the candle drips and berries.  I tweaked the flame and added a dollop of glossy accents as well as gold glitter gel to the base of the flame.

Thanks for popping by,
