New Release at Tiffany Doodles today!

Drum roll please ......

This is one of Tiffany's newest floral releases - Blue Bonnets.  I just love flowers - can you tell?  I'm also discovering a renewed love for my Prismas & Gamsol ...

This beautiful digital image is actually one from the Blue Bonnets set that I copied and flipped.  The sentiment is computer generated using my favorite font, Scriptina.  As I said, I colored this image with my prismacolored pencils and gamsol.  I sponged around a scallop cut out to give a faux frame for the sentiment as well as sponging around the edges with Tim Holtz' tea dye.

The card base is daffodil with Navy matting the computer generated paper from Bearly Mine Designs.  Finishing touches include the garden green flourishes, light blue rhinestones and lucsious yellow bow ... This is such a pretty spring color combination ... What do you think?

Make sure you check out Tiffany Doodles to see the full set for this Blue Bonnet as well as a template for a coffee cup 'cozy' (think Starbucks) ... Lots of fun new images!

The Stamping Boutique Challenge #5

This fortnight challenge is a "Winged" theme.  While Tracey has a plethora of winged images over at The Stamping Boutique ... I was immediately taken with this beautiful new floral image.  (You all know my penchant for flowers, right?)

I colored this image with Prismas and then added a few dots of yellow Stickles for the center.  I airbrushed some Y13 and BG10 in a mottled fashion before cutting out with my newest Spellbinders die (I'm horribly behind schedule in picking all those up, lol).  The butterfly was cut then embossed with a Cuttlebug 2-in-1.  I 'folded' the butterfly before sponging and then added some diamond Stickles for some added texture.  THERE!  It's my 'winged' contribution to this beautiful new image!

Thanks for popping in!

Tiffany Doodles new releases

Omygosh have I been swamped with Nursing school stuff last couple of weeks - it's kicking my butt, but I'm doing pretty good (fingers crossed as finals are in 2 weeks).

Anyway - these are cards I did last week and just couldn't find time to put them up.  They're all new releases from Tiffany Doodles ... Love them all!

This first one is a beautiful crocus that I colored with my Copics and then tweaked with my Prismas.  The papers were from Paper Trey's guidelines pack.  I forgot how much I love the purple and green color combo.  Pale plum and perfect plum mats were used and I added a Stampin Up sentiment punched with their oval punch and some pretty purple pearls.

I really like the way this next one turned out ... The words on the dog tags were added by me before coloring with Prismas.  For the pearls, I added glossy accents (as well as teeny, tiny dots on the chain of the dog tag) before spritzing the whole thing with Smooch gold to age it.  I polished the pearls off right away to keep them a bit whiter.  Because the images and sentiment were all added, I wanted to keep the rest fairly simple, so I just added a satin knotted ribbon before matting it on black.

Hope you enjoyed the peek.
Would love to hear what you think.

Stamps R Us Challenge

This fortnight, the challenge at Stamps R Us is to create a project using "Bugs & Embossing" ...

Doodle Pantry is the sponsor this time, so be sure to check out their storefront for some super cute digital images.

For my card, I used the digital image from the "Thinking Ant" set as well as the sentiment.  He was colored with Copics.  My background designer paper is a woodgrain print (hard to tell after I embossed it with the pebbled Cuttlebug embossing folder then sponged with some garden green.

The card is 5.25x5.25 square.  I added some garden green mats and some garden green and suede punched branches along the edge before finishing off with a satin ribbon with some chocolate Bakers twine and some black faux nail heads.

Hope you enjoy.
Make sure you head over to Stamps R Us to participate in this challenge.
Thanks for stopping by!

New digital images at Tiffany Doodles release date 4/15/11

What a couple of cute, cute, cute new digital images.  Take a sneak peek ...
Tiffany is having a sale on these 2 images - buy both and save 10%.
Check it out by clicking on the link here.

I chose the carriage stamp.  I printed it out twice - once on white and once on the pretty Basic Grey designer paper, which I then paper pieced.  The 'cloth' parts of the carriage were paper pieced.  The rest was colored with Copics.  I sponged the edges and then added some orangish half pearls.  Added some silver pearls to the carriage top for the hinges.

My base is vanilla then pumpkin then some more of that pretty designer paper.  I finished off with a flourish from Sizzix in pumpkin and an ivory organdy ribbon.  The gold part of the wheels have glossy accents on them as well.  I left the little bluebird "out of the box" here.

Now, if I only knew someone expecting ... Anyone need this card, just let me know & I'll be happy to send it to the first person who asks.

Thanks heaps for stopping by!

The Stamping Boutique Dramatic Tree

One of Tracey's newest images - love how this Dramatic Tree seems to be dripping buds.  Today was Challenge #4 over at The Stamping Boutique's Challenge blog - This week it was a Color challenge - Pink, Purple and Green.

I colored my tree with Copics (buds are pinks and purples, with the leaves green), then after it was all put together, added some pink stickles/purple stickles/green stickles.

The card base is green with a purple mat under the purple polka dot designer paper.  The tree has bright pink mat to set off the tree & keep it bright by the dark purple designer paper.  I punched a slot in the image panel to thread this pink ribbon through.  The sentiment was computer generated when I printed the image.

Check out The Stamping Boutique store to see what else Tracey has for you to play with.
As always, thanks for stopping by.

New Release of Pear Blossoms at Tiffany Doodles

Gorgeous new set of digital Pear Blossoms is being released today over at Tiffany Doodles.  This set joins the Japanese Magnolia and Cherry Blossom sets in the Granny's Yard Series.

Because of the delicate white flowers of the Pear Blossom, I wanted to show them off on a Kraft background.  I used Prismas and Gamsol for coloring both of them.

For the first one, I wanted to give the base a vintage feel with bolder colors.

For this second one, I wanted to keep the card light an Spring-y.  I like the way the pearl flourishes look with their curves against the geometric plaid.

Thanks for stopping in to see what's new.
Make sure you head over to Tiffany Doodles and check out the Granny's Yard Series as well as Tiffany's other beautiful images.

April Challenge at Tiffany Doodles

It's that time, again - Tiffany's April challenge is here.
This month, Tiffany charged us with a color scheme - shades of turquoise.  Those that know me, know that oranges and turquoise aren't my 'go-to' colors, so this was surely a challenge for me, lol.

You'll have until April 21st for this challenge.  Simply go to the Tiffany Doodles blog and link your card at the bottom of April 7th's entry.  Winner's will be determined after April 21st.

The Prizes:
$10 gift certificate for Tiffany Doodles
(for the winner using a Tiffany Doodles digi image)

$5 certificate for Tiffany Doodles for the runner up
(no matter what stamp/image is used)

Make sure you head over to Tiffany Doodles and take a look at what she has to offer - you'll love what you see.
In the meantime - here's what I created ...
I actually used 3 different images/sets for this one - Easter Egg 1, Easter Egg 2 and one of the chicks and sentiment from Cheery Chicks.  All of the images were colored with Copics.  On the polka dotted egg, after coloring, I used my colorless blender to pull some of the color off of the dots before I added some diamond Stickles.  Added the same Stickles to the striped egg and for 'faux brads' on the sentiment panel.
The background is simply Copic grass with some Stampin Up's bashful blue sponged around a scalloped cloud template I made.  Background and sentiment were sponged with turquoise before matting or popping up.  I used some pretty Paper Trey Ink ribbon for this that went well with the color palette.  Designer paper is from DCWV glitter pack.
Card Recipe:
Digital images from Tiffany Doodles: Easter Egg 1 and 2, Cheery Chicks
Copics:
BG11-13-15-18
Y15-17, YR23
YG17, G07
W3-5
Diamond Stickles
SU label punch
Paper Trey mint twill ribbon
Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by again - don't forget to load your Turquoise card over at Tiffany Doodles Blog by April 21st

Spent the day at the Boutique

The Stamping Boutique, that is ... just got these new digital images and in a frenzy to get them on a card.  Had an exam in Nursing today, another one in Pharmacology tomorrow, but I wanted to play hookie for a few hours.

This first one is called Thoughts - Tracey did such a wonderful job with this.  After coloring it with Prismas/gamsol, it looked a little too perfect, so I distressed a little (okay, so it's alot, lol) ... but I like the way it turned out.  I added some Stickles to the flower centers and dots below the hearts.  SU dp matted on rose then ivory base.  Finished off with some pretty pink pearls.

This next one is Queen Elizabeth - quote says "One man with a head on his shoulders is worth a dozen without."  I'm Uber-fan of King Henry VIII, his daughter Queen Elisabeth, Tudors, Other Bolyn Girl, Mary Queen of Scots (Vanessa Redgrave was smashing in that, I think), Cate Blanchett did a great job in Elizabeth as well ... well, practically anything referencing this time period ... So when I saw this image, I HAD, had to get it.

Elizabeth is colored with Copics/  Because she's a queen, I added some 'pearls' and glitter gel to almost anything that stood still.  The roses are from Stampin Up that I airbrushed ... are you ready?  ... with a brown - E18 to be exact.  Think they look wonderful - can still see a smattering of the ivory, but that's what makes them look so great.  I tucked some branches from the MS punch in green and brown.  Because we're talking the 1500's, I distressed the quote w/Elizabeth's 'signature' on it.  The card base is kraft, then burgundy then a toile designer paper.  I used Tim Holtz' baroque die for the next panel that I added a couple of pearls to, as well as the image panel.  I'm quite pleased with the way this one turned out!

Last, but not least, Cleopatra.  Funny ... the week before Elizabeth Taylor passed, I sat for 4 hours and watched that movie (without falling asleep), so it was very weird that Tracey came out with this image just this past week.  I love the sentiment along the side, "Don't you know that I could have poisened you a hundred times if I could have lived without you?"  I think it's a great card to send to that special guy, don't you?

She was colored with Copics then I airbrushed the sky.  I colored most of it w/a gold feel cuz Cleo was all about the bling, dontcha know?  Couldn't stop there, had to glossy accent the jewels on her headress and necklace.  And yet, it still didn't seem enough, lol, so I added some gold pearls.  I ran a sheet of daffodil through my brickyard cuttlebug folder then sponged it with mustard (I think I was spiralling out of control at this point with the gold theme) before matting on turquoise to match the sky then finished with a gold ribbon.  I thought I'd stay away from the ba-ling sparkly gold ribbon ... Sometimes too much is just that - TOO much, lol.

Anyway, that's how I spent my afternoon.  Hope you enjoyed taking a peek.  Make sure to check out Tracey's store at The Stamping Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Cupids Challenge - Dots 'n Stripes

Today's challenge over at Card Cupids was to incorporate Dots 'n Stripes.  Sponsoring the challenge is none other than The Stamping Boutique!

The digital image is from The Stamping Boutique's, "Cynthia line", called Easter Basket.  I colored this one with prismas and gamsol, adding some clear glitter gel pen to her wings and 'halo' of sparklies.  The papers are from a Paper Studio stack pack.  Daffodil and Peach were used for mats.  I chose a Hero Arts sentiment and paper pierced the scalloped mat.

Head on over to Card Cupids to take part in this challenge and read more about this worthwhile organization.
