Saturated Canary Kit

I feel like I'm rocking purple lately ... It IS my favorite color - who DOESN'T like purple?!

This adorable digital image is from Saturated Canary, and she's called Kit.
After coloring her with Copics, I used my trusty dies to trim her out.  (If you look close, I left her in the die while I sponged some yellow around the oval - I did the same with yellow and concord on the sentiment panel.

The background is digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs' Floral Fantasy (below left) with the yellow strip from their Mini Dots (below right) package.

I finished off with an oval doily, a flourish punched from same cardstock, a lavender ribbon and some liquid opal pearls for the scalloped oval, the flourish, and even the buttons on her dress and shoes.  Cardstock is from Stampin Up, called perfect plum and pale plum.

Hope you all enjoy ... She was certainly a treat to color and put her 'home' together.

Book Worm Ivy

This image was too adorable for me to pass up (aren't they all?).  Well, this one was extra special.  I noticed that I colored her to look a lot like my Darling Daughter who's away at school ... with the exception of the glasses, DD doesn't need them, not yet, anyway.

This image is from Saturated Canary and she's called Ivy.  I don't know how artists like Krista Smith come up with all their wonderful, fabulous, stunning art work - but I'm glad they do, for I get to color them in and make beautiful cards, so thank you very much!

She was colored with Copics, but it was last week, and I either tossed the color notes or ... well, lets just say I tossed the color notes and leave it ... I tried using the colorless blender to take off the color on the dots, and while it looked pretty cool, I was looking for more of a contrast, especially given that the designer paper I used had white dots on them ... SO, I used my Gelli Roll to dot her shirt.  I also added some Crystal Effects for her eyeglasses.

The designer paper is from Bearly Mine Designs, but they're not in any of the packages, I think I picked it up before it was retired.  Even so, there's other lovely papers that Donna's created that I'm sure you'll love, even if you can't find these.  The cardstock is from Stampin' Up, and it's the Elegant Eggplant and old Lavender Lace.
Here's something similar, Just Plaid, that you might like.

I finished it off with a tiny strip of crocheted lace, some lavender grosgrain ribbon and a set of tri colored paper roses ... Again, going closer to clean and simple rather than ornate and grand, but that's how I roll ...

I'm submitting this to the challenge over at Deep Ocean which is "To use at lease One flower"
Also, I'm posting in Crafting By Designs - Anything Goes challenge
and Crafting With Dragonflies - Anything Goes challenge

Hope you like it ... Let me know what you think.
Have a wonderful day!

EMO Tiddly Inks

This Tiddly Inks image jumped out at me when I was browsing and immediately wondered how the blue tints would look in black hair ... Good!!
She was colored with Copics (I'm afraid she's been sitting on desk waiting for a home til now, so I don't know the color combo's I chose).

I used some Black and white digi paper from Bearly Mine Designs, but this heart paper isn't in any packages ... however, there is a lovely black and white package here that you might like.  I also used a piece from the gingham set

I kept this one simple with mats in Stampin Up's Basic Black and Real Red.

Hope you enjoy!
Have a great day!

Girls finally made it to cards

Okay, so this is my mix-up of coloring I've done over the past couple of weeks that just didn't make it to a card yet ...

This first one is actually my "before" for the Kit and Clowder class - hmm, was she for the clothing or hair, lol, I can't remember right now ... Anyway, wanted to get her on a card before I spilled something on her, or something.  The image is one of the first ones I bought over at Saturated Canary ... Called Princess Reading Beauty ... Isn't she just precious?!

The background paper is from Bearly Mine Designs - It's called Embossed, but I don't see it in the packages, so it may be retired, sorry ... but that shouldn't stop you - there's HEAPS of other lovelies over there for digital papers.
As I said, I colored her in Copics, but because she's been sitting here, I don't recall the colors I used.
I layered the card with some old SU bashful blue and navy and a piece of lace from a Martha Stewart package I picked up to use for ceramic painting of all things - guess this piece isn't going onto a bowl.

Kept the layers simple because I wanted 'er done!

Hope you like it ... Have a wonderful day!
Take care,

Fairy named for Alyce

Adorable image from a fresh, up and coming digital stamp designer, Amy Hurley at Amy Doodle Stamp Company.  This weekend, she's got this free digital image - Fall Fairy - you just have to go to Kit and Clowder's Facebook Page, find the link where she talks about Amy's fall image and Kit and Clowder's coloring contest ... like, share, and comment on the post there, THEN ... head over to Amy's Facebook Page, join there to get up to the minute updates, then go to Kit and Clowder's website (become a member - it's FREE), and once you've done that, you can click the link to download this free digi-stamp.  Once you've colored her up, go to the Kit and Clowder's Facebook page and enter it into the Colouring Contest applicable to this image.  (Sounds complicated, but trust me, it's not, and once you're a member of Kit and Clowder, you'll fall in love ... Alyce Keegan has online coloring classes for alcohol markers (not just Copic brands), distress classes, and she's coming out with more.  It'll be worth your while ...

In the meantime, let me get back to my card ... Oh yeah, that IS why I started this post, lol ...

I colored this image with Copics (see colors at end), and added some Wink of Stella to her wings ... You can hardly see from straight on, but it gives just that extra shimmer that fairy wings MUST have.  This digital set also comes with several sentiments ... I wanted to be on the generic fall, every day note card.

The background papers are all from Bearly Mine Designs, matted on Stampin Up Garden green and Really Rust.  The DP's I used were from Bearly Mine's Fall Fancy and Mini Dots sets.  I've come to the conclusion that this Mini Dot set is perfect for nearly every card - there's 95 - yes, count them, NINETY-FIVE different colors in the set.

I added white dots with my Gelli Roll pen to the cranberries in her hair so they'd shine.  I kept the layers simple, adding just a trio of flowers to complement the colors; again, I'm going to be sending this overseas with a bunch of others and don't want them to get too mangled.

Copics Used:
     Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20                  Hair:  H37,35,33,Y23
     Leaves:  YG93,13; E08,YR18,16,21
     Dress:  YR24,23,20,000
     Wings:  BV02,00,Y000,15
     Eyes:  G07,YG09,23
     Shoes:  W7,5,3

I really enjoyed making this card - and I'm actually loving the color combination - it's so warm and comforting (to me, anyway).  Hope you like it too ...

I'm posting this in the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations' Challenge this week - Use Autumnal Colors - check!
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Crafty Girls Challenges - Anything Goes

I'm heading off to bed, as I have to get up early in the morning for our Homecoming Parade ... Sometime, would someone please remind me WHY I keep coaching this recreational cheer squad?
(Seriously, I love the girlies, and am so proud of seeing what they can accomplish in a year).

Come back soon to see what else I come up with ...
Have a wonderful weekend!

Witches in Training

Okay, I've said this before, right?  "I'm not one to make Halloween cards" ... surprised myself again ... by making another one ... This adorable (dare I say that when I'm talking about witches?) First Flight is by A Day for Daisies ... I can just picture them listening to the instructor tell them how to levitate on their brooms, can't you?

The image was colored with Copics and then I distressed the heck out of the image panel.  Cardstock is Stampin Up's Night of Navy and Pumpkin.  The Designer paper is from Bearly Mine Design's Halloween Fantasy collection, and can be found HERE.  This is a preview of the paper pack.

I was going to put a sentiment on it before I realized that the layout I had actually showcased "Happy Halloween in the upper right corner.  I finished it with some navy SU grosgrain ribbon knots and left it alone ... Sometimes 'simple' is a good thing.

While this card IS geared towards Halloween, it could also be used for a note card.  Inside I put a sheet of coordinating light colored designer paper from Bearly Mine Designs as well, that can be written upon.

I'm submitting this to A Day for Daisies' Challenge #105 - Anything Goes
(but it has to use an ADFD image)

Copics Used:
     Skin: E11,00,000,R20     Hair:  E37,35
     Clothing:  B97,34,93,41,E09,08,15,13
     Brooms:  E37,35,33,Y23
     Hats, skirts, boots:  W9,7,5,3
     Socks:  C3,1; R24,22

Hope you enjoyed today's offering.
Have a great day!

Penny's New Do

Okay, who else is a Big Bang Theory fan?  Just saw this week's season premiere and absolutely loved Penny's new hairdo.  Its about time for her character to evolve, even if they keep her on the naïve about life side.  I don't know the story behind Krista Smith's creation of this digital image from Saturated Canary, appropriately titled "Penny", but after seeing BBT this week, I KNEW I wanted to color this up in homage to that dingbat, Penny, that we know and love.

I used Copics to color Penny (see list below)

I layered the front of the card with Stampin Up's Garden Green and Certainly Celery cardstocks.  That lacey edged designer paper is from Bearly Mine Designs' Paper Lace set - the four sides has lace in the paper.   I just love it!

I added a strip of lace I got from a local bridal store, some SU celery ribbon and a flourish die with pearls dotted here and there.

Copics used:
     Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20
     Hair:  E35,33,31,Y23
     Dress:  YG67,17,13,11

I loved making this card, and think that pixie haircut is the cutest ever.  Wish I had the courage to go that short.

Submitting to the following challenges:
     Bunny Zoe's Crafts - September=Lace
Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes
     Crafty Cardmakers & More - Ribbons/Lace & Pearls

Fair-ly Sweet

Okay, so I missed the challenge for Tiddly Inks projects including fairies ... but finally got this little imp onto a card.  Love how spring-y this looks, even though we're headed into the fall here in the States.

This sweet thing is called Willow the Greeting Fairy from Tiddly Inks' digital line.  There's also a few sentiments that come with her, but as usual, I like to leave sentiments off the cards - it makes them so much more versatile ... Once I come up with who and what I want to send a card to, I sometimes add a sentiment then, or just treat it like a blank note card.

Willow was colored with Copics (shocked?) after printing onto Cryogen iridescent.  I'm torn between the Xpress Blend It paper and Cryogen.  I love the way the Cryogen automatically gives a sparkle, even if it's not apparent in the photo.  It's kind of like adding Wink of Stella in clear all over.  In fact, I added some Wink of Stella to her wings, but had to do 2 coats, and still, you have to turn the card this way and that to see the extra sparkle.

I used Stampin Up's Pumpkin and Garden Green cardstocks, as well as some fabulous spring-y digital designer paper from Bearly Mine Design
The larger green background is from the Floral Surprise set and the strips across are from the Mini Dots set.  I think they look perfect with the saffron SU grosgrain ribbons and the pretty paper flowers.  Finished off with some pretty pearls.

Copics Used:
     Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20       Hair:  E37,35,31,Y23
     Dress/Boots:  V06,12,01,000,B26,24,21
     Wings:  BG01,000,RV00,BV000

I'm so loving making all these cards.  I'm trying to work on coloring every day and whipping up a card every day-every other day ... Hope you enjoy the results.

Would love to hear what you think.
Take care and have a wonderful day!

Witching You a Happy Halloween

Had some fun with this new digital image (to me, it's new) from Saturated Canary called Fly Girl.  I don't typically send out cards for Halloween, maybe I'll send this down to DD with a box of goodies.
I colored her with Copics and then left half of her on the cardstock while the upper half of the image I fussy cut around before matting the square part onto black cardstock that was punched with a fence border.

All papers are from Bearly Mine Design and the cardstock is from Stampin Up.  The purple dotted layer from Bearly Mine is from their Mini-Dots collection.  The other two pages are either from freebies I got aeons ago or are retired.  I finished with a flourish die.  The sentiment is computer generated and punched with an SU frame punch & doubled down.  The background and 2 pumpkin colored rectangles were distressed on the edges after matting.

Copics used:
     Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20
     Hair:  C9,7,5
     Dotted Dress: BV06,04,02,00,000
     Orange Overcoat/hat/bow:  YR18,09,07.04
     Petticoat:  YG13,00
     Boots:  W9,7,5,3,1
     Broom:  E37,35,33,31,Y23,R29,24,22

I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I really like the way she looks 1/2 fussy-cut, with her hand sitting on the fence.  I also love the way the paper layers turned out.  Hope you do too ...

I've entered this one into the Love to Create - Fussy Cut Challenge.

Drop me a note and let me know what you think.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Crazed Alicia

My daughter is going into third week at college.  So far so good she says ... although she does have an art history class that's kicking her butt ... What?  I guess this apple fell into the neighboring orange grove.  She's never been keen on artsy-crafty stuff ... Had to bribe her to get her to scrapbook with me a few years ago with her own tote on wheels, etc. (which sits here collecting dust, lol).

ANYway ... I thought this digital image from Saturated Canary called Alicia Student Zombie was perfect to send to her.  She's usually a little zombie-esque in the mornings anyway, even without taking a full load at school.

I colored her with Copics and used some beautiful Bearly Mine Design papers.  I'm also into quilting, so when I saw this Patchwork Party set, I knew I had to have it.  I also used the Mini Dots paper pack.  I think that middle purple dotted one on the left came from a freebie aeons ago, but it's also Bearly Mine's paper.

Little Miss is going to be getting this with her first "survival package" that I mail out in the morning.
Hope you all like it, leave some love and have great day!

Rick St. Dennis' Zephyr McBroom

Fun freebie from Rick St. Dennis over at the Kit and Clowder Facebook site this weekend.  I immediately thought of Wicked, so here's my version of Zephyr McBroom, green-toned skin and all.

I colored her with Copics and used some Bearly Mine Designs digital papers from
Happy Hauntings pack.  I know the stripes are Bearly Mine, as well, but can't seem to find where they're from.
Basic Black and Pumpkin cardstock from Stampin' Up and a scaredy cat from black cardstock to finish off this one.

Copics used:
Skin:  E11,21,00,R20, yes: YG03
Hair:  N9,7,5,BV13
Hat: N9,7,5,3
Dress:  YR18,16,12,00    Apron:  V17,15,12,01
Socks:  YR18,16,12,YG17,03,00
Pumpkin:  E34,YR24,21,YG67,17,03

Saturated Canary's Snail Mail

Adorable new image from Saturated Canary (for me, it's new, anyway) ... Love, love, love those darling images!!!  This one is called Snail Mail - isn't she just darling?
I colored her with Copics and then used some of Bearly Mine's adorable designer paper from the Patchwork Party and Floral Fantasy collections and some SU Pool Party, Pink Pirouette and I think Island Indigo (not 100% sure).

I also took some Prima flowers, spritzed them with alcohol then dragged some Copics over them to color them to match the designer paper.  A ProvoCraft flourish die was used with the Indigo cardstock for the flourish and little flowers.  Finished off with some pretty 1/2 pearls.

Copics used:
     Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20                        Hair:  E35,33,Y32,21
     Apron/Boots:  E35,33,31,44,43,42,41          Dress/Bow:  RV85,83 81
     Socks & petticoat:  B45,41,000

I just love these images, they're so wonderful to color, and this patchwork designer paper was perfect ... Very happy with how this one turned out.

I'm entering her into a couple of challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
My Heart Pieces - Use Digital Image

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day ... Take care!

Okay, you ALL have to check out Bearly Mine Designs if you haven't already ... There's some gorgeous paper packs that are available ... I love using digital papers for cards because you only have to keep on hand (print out) what you want right then ... Just make sure you have an extra color cartridge for your printer ... I've been sans color for last couple of days, and OF COURSE, always the way when I wanted to print something out, didn't have the right tools ...

But seriously, this weekend, through 9/22/14, the Bearly Mine Design Shop is having an End of Summer sale - that's 20% off on all of their paper packets.

I can practically promise you, you won't leave empty handed - there's so many beautiful packs of paper, each one with lots of papers inside.

Head on over and check it out.  The sale ends at midnight (United Kingdom time), September 22, 2014.

Have a great day!

I Love You, Marti !

I recently participated in a blog hop over at Digi Stamps 4 Joy where they celebrated their 100th challenge ... and on one of the stops, I was lucky enough to win a $10 certificate to the store ... Yay me!  I never win stuff, lol.  Anyway, while I was browsing the store to pick out my images, I came across this hysterical image called Fashion Faux Pas ... I couldn't even wait for my chosen images to get emailed to me, I had to buy this one immediately!  This card is for my very Bestie, and there's a hysterical story behind it ... 'nuff said that you can figure it out by the image on the card.  I can share before she gets it because I doubt she'll make it over here before she gets the card.

Again, this is a digital image that I printed on Cryogen iridescent cardstock and colored with Copics.  Holy cow, my Cryogen, Neenah and X-Press Blend It papers arrived JUST IN TIME.  I had just printed out an adorable image onto Stampin Up's Whisper White and had one heck of a time with over saturation & mucking up the inks.  I'll use SU's WW in a pinch when I'm only laying down light layers of color, but I had forgotten about the image being on the WW, so it ended up ... well, even though she'll never make it to a card or a project, I still can't throw her away ...  I digress ... on to this card.

I layered with some SU's mustard and chocolate cardstocks and some pretty designer paper, don't ask me where I got it, I had already cut it down.  I used one of my Sizzlette dies to cut out the flourish in the corner and kept this one simple in layers because I wanted to mail it right away tomorrow.

Copics used:
  Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000
  Hair:  E37,35,31,Y32,21
  Clothing:  YG97,95,93,91; Y15,11,000; N5,3,RV95,93,91
  Bags:  E47,44,43,42,41; C3,1,00
  Smudge:  B41,0000,colorless blender

I hope you like the card.  The whole time I was making it, I was reminiscing about all the fun times I had with dearest Marti when she lived near here, and how she could get me laughing so hard I'd nearly ... well, you get the picture ... She's a wonderful person and a blast to be around and I wish she lived closer to me so I could see her all the time.  I know I should call her more often, lets see if I can rectify that.

I'm posting this card in a few challenges, as well, which include:

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - Anything Goes, just used patterned paper
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes (cool sponsor = Oozak!)
Suzi Bee's Bloomin' Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
My Heart Pieces - Anything Goes - for the month starting 8/21/14

Hope you have a great day ... Would love to hear what you think of the card.
Take care,
