Tiffany Doodles for Wednesday

Should be moving furniture so I can paint my dining room - Nah ... Maybe tomorrow.  There's something to be said about being home alone ('cept for the pesky kats who always want you to look at them, but don't TOUCH them, eeek! and the occasional open door for dog trips upstairs) and being able to color - Can't believe 4 hours has gone by.

Anyway, here's 2 of my completed projects for today, using digital images from Tiffany Doodles

This first one was made following the  Card Patterns Sketch challenge #97 found here.  I know their sketch showed a circle at the center, but I thought cutting out this image with a square base looked pretty cool with his head, tail and ball of yarn slightly hanging over the edge.  This cute Kitty Yarn was colored with Copics (C00,1,3, R00,22,24,27, B29, BG72,75,78) and highlighted with white gel pen.  I used designer paper from Basic Grey's Olivia paper pack, which looked a little olive and bayou to me, so that's what I matted with.  I added some glossy accents to this kitten's eyes for added shine.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set that I punched out and skewed the mat so I could place diamond Stickles just on the left edges.  I finished off with a generic grosgrain ribbon.  This card measures 5.25 squared.  Isn't he cute?

Okay, now for the opposite end of the spectrum ... I DO love cute, but this Hummingbird's been calling my name (along with one of Tiffany's bluebirds, so expect that one soon) for weeks now, and only today did I not feel rushed enough to sit down and play with him.  (Forget I told you I was supposed to be painting the dining room today, okay?)  He was colored entirely with Copics (E31,34,35,47,50,51, R22,35,37, W00,1,3, BG10).  I'm actually quite pleasantly surprised at how this fella turned out (sorry, have to toot my own horn, no one's home to show it to just yet).  I just loved the soft coloring, so I didn't want to muck it up with too busy of a card or designer paper, so I kept this one fairly simple.  The designer paper is unknown but has soft leaves on an ivory background.  I kept artichoke and soft suede as my mat colors.  I sponged the edges of the designer paper, image panel and inside the nesties die of the sentiment panel with Tea Dye.  Finishing touches include half pearls and Stampin Up seam binding tape for the bow treatment.

This second card wasn't done for any challenge in particular, although I might go in search of one to see if it fits.

Thanks for popping in for another look-see ... As always, I love to hear what you have to say.

Collette... The kitty is awesome, I love it! But I have to say, your Hummer is stunning! He is absolutely wonderful! (You should toot your own horn once in awhile! LOL!) Awesome cards... and who really wants to paint when it is so chilly outside? It is much more cozy to just sit in your pj's, color and create! LOL! Gotcha! (I do that too! LOL!) Happy Creating! Sara
