Kisses Under the Mistletoe

Found another image by Krista Smith from Funky Kits' Sugar Nellie/Simply Sassy Line called Christmas Kisses ... and shocker - had to have it!

I colored this beauty with Copics and then added some glossy accents to the candy canes and tiny berries in her hair ...

The background paper is from Bearly Mine Designs, but I'm having trouble finding which paper pack they're in ... and the snowflakes and swirls were cut with the Silhouette Cameo.  I used Navy and border blue for cardstock. 

The sentiment is from La La Lands' Digital images.

Christmas Wishes for Sweden

Okay, now that I know my swapper has received my holiday card, I can post it here.  Over at Kit and Clowder's Facebook page, many of us joined in a holiday card swap.  This is what I sent Asa over in Sweden:

The image is from Meljens, colored with Copics.  I made 5 different trees and colored each layer.  Putting it together, I put dimensionals under each branch to make it stick out.  Once it was all layered, I used liquid pearls for the garland and glossy accents for each of the lights and ornaments.  The pink pressie was also popped up one layer.

 

I used papers from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Traditions and Christmas Frolics and distressed the edges of everything. 

The cardstock is Stampin Up's cherry cobbler. 

The dies are from the Silhouette Cameo.

The sentiment is from Paper Trey sentiment package.

What's that saying, "When one door closes, another one opens?"

Excited to announce that I've been asked to be on the All Dressed Up Design team, effective January ...

I can't believe I'd never even seen them until recently, but they're so sweet and innocent, and I do lean that way, even though, on occasion, I like a visit to the dark side.

I'm super excited to engage in all the challenges, and I hope you'll check them out as well.  The artist, Wendy Burns, has an All Dressed Up Etsy Shop where you can find all her lovely designs ... please check it out.

All Dressed Up for this Little Skater

Adorable image, Little Skater, from All Dressed Up ... Isn't she the cutest? 

I colored her with Copics and then used my trusty Creative Memories circles to cut her and the mat out.

Papers are Stampin Up cardstock: Pacific Point and Pretty in Pink.  Designer paper is from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Ice paper pack.

 
HURRY UP and get over there before she closes her doors on 12/31/14.  Based on new European VAT laws/rules, Donna has found she will no longer be able to distribute these gorgeous paper packs.  They're on sale for 50% off until she closes shop.  So sad to see her go ...

I used a few cuts from my Silhouette Cameo (snowflakes and flourishes) to finish her off ... here's a close up of the colored image.

Warm Squigglefly Wishes

This week at The Outlawz' Paper ala Mode challenge - we were to use our favorite color combination ... Our sponsor this week is Squigglefly - lots of very cute images!

My favorite color combo (this week, anyway) is blues and greens ... they're so calming and remind me of the ocean and beaches, go figure ...

I used this Squigglefly image called Maddie's Charlie Brown Tree and colored her with Copics.  I added some glossy accents to the holly berries and the ornament at the end.

 

I used SU's celery for the base and then white borders/dies cut with the Silhouette Cameo.  The image was fussy cut on the left side so part of it hangs over - looks like the scarf is really blowing in the wind.  The DP is from Bearly Mine Designs' Pastel Christmas paper pack ... She's closing shop 12/31/14, so check out her store for a 50% sale on everything!

 

I added a couple of accents with (bordering blue, I think) blue, some pretty blue and white flowers and a sparkly doo-dad for a bit of pop.  The sentiment is from a Paper Trey sentiment pack.

Dance Like No One is Watching

Okay, so it's another day and I have another favorite from Saturated Canary ... I know, I sound very fickle, but you'd feel the same way if you saw Krista's beautiful images.  They're darling!

This is a new one called Dancer, and can be found in Saturated Canary's digi shop.  I colored her with Copics.

I used Stampin Up Lavender Lace and Elegant Eggplant cardstock, then some pretty purple designer digi paper from Bearly Mine Designs' Damask Delight.

These papers are only available until December 31st, 2014, as Donna will be closing shop due to the new European VAT laws/rules that will take effect.  She's having a 50% sale on everything in the store until she closes, so head over there for some lovely papers while you have a chance.  Each paper pack is chocked full of tons of pages, and you'll love them.

 

For this card, I added a white doily and then layered a piece of pink die from LaLaLand called Lattice Doily Border before I tied on a lavender ribbon.  I finished with a butterfly cut from my Silhouette and then "frantaged" with Shabby Pink embossing enamel from Stampendous.

 

The sentiment is computer generated - one of my favorite sayings.  It's abbreviated from the quote, but this fit the image/card.

Littlest Angel

Very bittersweet post today ....

This is my last Inspiration Post as a design team member for Bearly Mine Designs.  Sadly, Donna has decided to close her doors based on new European VAT laws that will take effect on January 1st.

The image I used is from Saturated Canary, called Little Angel, and I colored her in very soft colors with Copics. 

The papers used were from Donna's Christmas Ice paper pack.  I sponged the edges of the papers with SU's bashful blue to simulate matting, as I wanted this one kind of simple on the layers.  I used the Silhouette to cut the sentiment, snowflakes and filigree frame.

Here are some close ups to see more detail:

 The snowflakes and "Joy" were heavily sprinkled with Shabby Pink embossing enamel from Stampendous.

Look at the lovely gold and white enamel with the pink glitter ... pretty, huh?

All Wrapped Up

More Holiday cards ....

This one is an image from Saturated Canary called Wrapping and was colored with Copics.

 I used non traditional colors - turquoise and cobbler SU cardstock ... never would have put those together, but after coloring, it just felt right.  I found this pretty plaid paper with a hint of turquoise in it from Bearly Mine Designs digital paper pack called Just Plaids.

 

I used the Silhouette to cut out the white snowflake border, then cut some of them apart and sponged some of them with some tempting turquoise from SU.  The scalloped red border is a border punch.  The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy, a digital image from their Christmas Greeting set.  I sponged around the sentiment in cobbler and then finished off with a few well-placed pearls.

 

Right here, right now, I don't know if anyone can top my love for these beautiful images drawn by Krista of Saturated Canary ... They're soft and sweet, and so much fun to color.

Homework from Alyce of Kit 'n Clowder

Beautiful Alyce of Kit and Clowder gave all of us at the Facebook group her class for creating this beautiful Tiddly Inks image, "Wryn Spring Bling" ...

Alyce has a whole bunch of classes ranging from Light Source, Skin & Hair, Clothing, Animals, as well as a bunch of project classes like this one for Wryn's Spring Bling.  You'll love Alyce's teaching style, as well as her Aussie accent.

I used papers from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Traditions and Christmas Frolics paper packs for this card, as well as Stampin Up cobbler cardstock.

The corner ornaments were from the Silhouette Cameo that I sponged in cobbler, then colored the ornaments with Copics.  I added glossy accents to all of the berries in her hand, tops of ornaments, and hair pieces, then finished with some brown faux pearls and a pretty green ribbon.

December Challenge for Bearly Mine Designs

I'm pretty excited about this one ... This month's challenge at Bearly Mine Designs is to create a Christmas project - anything BUT a card ...

I've been toying with the idea of making a holiday plaque combining my favorite images and my favorite papers, and VOILA!  Here it is ...

 

This started off as a canvas 8x10 inch board.  I layered papers from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Frolics paper pack (4 different pages) as well as a couple of doilies and dies using matte medium from Golden.  The sentiment was cut with my Silhouette.  I added some chipboard stars that I had painted gold and then stamped.

 

The beautiful images are from Saturated Canary by Krista Smith.  Mickey the Elf is on the left and Molly is on the right, both colored with Copics. 

 

Before sealing one final time, I aged the edges and the stars with Archival potting soil ink.  You can't see it, as it's hanging down behind, but there's a red ribbon that I hot-glued to the back to hang this up on the wall.
