2011 - Start off the New Year!

Omygosh ... getting started off in the New Year shouldn't be this hard, lol.

Crazy days getting used to the Darling one being under foot so much over the Holiday break. Love her to pieces, but you get in a groove and hard to get out of it. It was so nice, though, to spend some quality time with her. Something to be said about snuggling with your 15 year old in front of the tv. Even if it is to watch The Wizards of Waverly Place or the Pretty Little Liars marathon. Here's how they celebrated the New Year.  My darling one is 2nd from right.

I had full intentions of getting all of the Splitcoast Stampers Wish RAK challenges done, but only managed the first 6 of them so far. I have full intentions of finishing them all.

In the meantime, here are a couple of challenges for The Stamping Boutique.

This first one is for the January 3rd Critter Sketch Challenge. I've had this digital moose image from Tracey's stash for ages it seems - "critter" just seemed to call out. He was colored with Copics and I used some Stampin' Up designer paper to finish him off. The card measures 5.25 squared - yes, extra, extra postage, dang it. I liked the greenery background paper for this guy - what do you think?

This next card was made for the Cards for Men sketch challenge. Again, I used a digital image from The Stamping Boutique, who was their sponser this week. I chose the snowglobe castle and colored with Copics then used designer paper from Stampin' Up's blueberry crisp pack. The sentiment is computer generated. I tried to keep this card fairly un-embellished since it was a manly card, but I did have to sparkle up his shield with Spica gold glitter gel pen for a bit of subtle sparkle.

Hope everyone's staying warm - we had 50+ degrees one day over the holidays which melted all the snow instantly.  While I like the white cover in the winter, I'd prefer the temps to hover around 30, no less.  We'll see what the next week brings.

Take care ... remember, Love to hear your comments!
