Another Challenge at Kit and Clowder's Facebook page

This weekend over at Kit and Clowder's Facebook page, they're showcasing some cute images from Scrapper's Delights

I got to use Shaylee's Fairy Digi which included a background with 3 butterflies on it.
I colored Shaylee with Copics and then fussy-cut her out so she would be 3D above the background.  For the background, I colored in the butterflies, and then went to town on the background.  It was all done with Copics.  First, I scribbled some purples and blue-greens randomly, then went in with my colorless blender to blend them together and take up some of the color.  Next I took a Q-tip soaked in alcohol and dripped a few spots all over ... I'm really happy with the way the background turned out.  I added some paths for the butterflies in diamond Stickles, some roses, a ribbon and a computer generated sentiment.

Here's a close up:

Cutest Fairy Waiting

This is one of the sweetest lines of digital images, A Day for Daisies ...  This week, over at The Outlawz' Saturday Paper ala Mode, the challenge is to use RED, WHITE, and PINK, and our sponsor is, of course, A Day for Daisies.

I used an image called Cute Fairy Waiting ...
She was colored with Copics, and then I fussy-cut around her so you could see the papers I used.  All papers are digital from the now-closed Bearly Mine Design.  I sponged all papers with black soot, and the doily in cherry cobbler.

The sentiment is from a very old Stampin' Up sentiment set.  I used an ornate heart die and sponged before removing, then added some red gems and some flowers before I called it a day.

Hope you like it ... Here's a close up of the image ...
Remember to check out The Outlawz on Saturday's for their Paper ala Mode challenge.
They also have challenges every other day of the week, too, so check those
out as well, and invite your friends to play.

Braid in My Hair

This lovely image is from A Day for Daisies ... called A Braid in My Hair

I colored her with Copics.
Papers used were scraps, so not sure what company,
but cardstock is from Stampin' Up (pretty in pink & rose red).

I used a punch for the 2 middle layers and sponged the edges of all DP's with rose red ink.  I finished with a corner heart die and a ribbon.
The sentiment is from Verve.

Here is a close up of the image:
Hope you like her ...
She was a gem to color, and I love the soft, delicate image.

Have a wonderful day!

Cupie Fairy takes a ride in The Little Red Wagon

It's that day of the week again - Wednesday is The Little Red Wagon's Challenge release day!
http://lilredwagon.blogspot.com/2015/01/challenge-274-winter-blues.html

This week, the challenge was to beat those Winter Blues - in other words, use mostly BLUE on your project.  As for images, as usual, it's anything goes.

Just got this adorable digital image from Saturated Canary called Cupie Arrows, and colored her up with Copics.
This little darling was so easy to color up, she seemed to tell me along the way
what colors to use.  I just love her.  The sentiment, by the way, is included with the image, along with another sentiment and a target.

Papers are digitals with Stampin Up cardstock for the bases.

Here's a close up of the colored image:
Hope she's chased away YOUR Winter Blues.
Remember, head over to Little Red Wagon and link up your
blue project.

Have a wonderful day!

Rick St. Dennis Pacifica

I don't know why, but when I saw this image, it just spoke to me!

It's a digital image from Rick St. Dennis, and can be found in his Zibbet shop.  It's currently called Pacifica 2015.

I colored him with Copics ... man are my eyes tired after that.

I used clear gelli roll for the swirls on the cloth,
and a Molotow pen for the bubbles.

The image is approximately 5 x 7, so I think I may do something
with mixed media for this king of the sea.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a WONDERFUL day!

Kit and Clowder Challenge

Kit and Clowder's Facebook page is having another couple of challenges ...
     1.  Use your favorite color combination, using any PPinky Dolls image,
     2.  Crayons/ wax medium

I'm so excited, the wonderful Alyce of Kit and Clowder has asked me to be one of the guest designers for this week's challenge, and I couldn't be more honored!  I created two cards for the first color combination, both of them from Ppinky Dolls' Etsy Shop.  This first one is called "Some Flowers for You", and it just called out to be a birthday card.
They were both colored with Copics.
This one, I kept the colors purple, teal and mint.
I don't know if you can tell, but this is a gate-fold card.
The entire top layers are connected to the left flap.

Here's a close up ...

The second card for the color combination was made using "Mushroom Fairy".
Again, she was colored with Copics.
I distressed all the edges of the digital papers and the image panel and smudged them
with Rangers Vintage Photo.

Here's a close up of this one ...

Hope you enjoy them, and have time to check out
for this next challenge.

Thanks for stopping by ...
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Summer with The Outlawz

This week's challenge over at The Outlawz' Paper ala Mode is "SUMMER" ... I don't know where you are in the world, but here in Chicago, it's still mighty cold.  Not as bad as we had a couple of weeks ago, and only 10 inches of snow so far this year, compared to 29 inches at this time last year, so it could be worse ... Only I'm pretty much DONE with winter, so this "Summer" card came at the perfect time!

I chose this super cute image from Art by Miran called Berrylicious.  You can find her in the Art by Miran Etsy Store.

I colored her with Copics and then used Stampin Up cardstock (saffron/ballet blue) and some digital paper from Bearly Mine Designs, no longer in business.

I added a fence border before adding the pretty yellow ribbon ... I like summer to be light and clean, so left it at that.

Here's a close up:
Copics colors:
  Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20
  Hair:  E18,15,13,11
  Dress:  E35,YR23,Y18,11,00
  Berries: R37,35,32
  Leaves:  YG67,63,61

Thanks for popping in ... Hope you can leave a comment.

Baby Love

Here is one of the beautiful new images from the Saturated Canary Valentine Bundle (5 digital images for only $10) ...

This one is called New Love ...

I colored her with Copics and kept the tones natural.
Combination of digital papers and SU paper scraps.
The sentiment is computer generated.
I finished with a Quik Kutz scalloped die, a Martha Stewart branch punch,
and die cut the sentiment with a Whimsy Stamps double scalloped tag die,
some pretty flowers (always in odd numbers for me - it's a superstition), and
a scrap of ribbon.
Here's a close up ...

Hope you like her as much as I do ...
Have a wonderful day!

Challenge #273 at Little Red Wagon

Well, today's challenge over at Little Red Wagon is hosted by Jan ... Her theme this week is "Shhhhhhh!" ... Don't use any words or text on the project you create.

That's not hard for me .. I usually like to leave my cards without a sentiment until I decide who and what they're for.  This week, I chose one of Saturated Canary's new images from the Valentine's Bundle (that's 5 digital images for only $10 ... pretty good price if you ask me).  This image is called "Groovy Love" ... note the glasses.  Based on the title of the image, I wanted to go a little bright and funky with the colors, so I chose bright pinks and purples ...

If you'll also notice, I chose black hair again ... I'm struggling to get it just right, so I may have to head back to the classroom at Kit and Clowder, but this is a heck of a lot better than what you won't see.  I was a bit miffed at first, so I added some white highlights with my Gelli Roll ... ARGH ... huge mistake ...
Thought about it all night, and yes, even dreamed about it,
only the highlights were bright pink.
Well, this morning I came downstairs and tried - never have before -
a Wet One and it swooped the gel pen right away - HURRAY!!!!
After that, I tweaked the hair a bit more, and was much more pleased with the results that you actually see here.

To dress up the card, I used some digital papers and Stampin Up cardstock in eggplant and Pretty in Pink (I think).  I added a sponged paper doily and used a new die I got from Elizabeth Craft Designs for the flower layers.  Finished off with some pearls and called it a day ...

Here's a close up of the image ...

Hope you have a chance to head over to The Little Red Wagon for this week's Shhhhhhh Challenge ... Would love to see what you come up with.

Have a wonderful day!

Ching Chou Kuik's "Love"

Here is a lovely image from Ching Chou Kuik's Etsy Shop - isn't she devine?  Stop by Ching Chou's Facebook page to see more lovely creations by fans of Ching Chou Kuik's.
I colored her with Copics.
The layers are from Stampin Up, green from one of the
In-Color packs and melon mambo.
I used some new dies from PoppyStamps and Joy! Crafts
and added some pearls for highlights.
I just love the bright green of this skirt.
I used YG's (00,03 & up to a G),
sorry I didn't write down colors, as I was flying by the seat of my pants.
I also added the YG00 to the highlights in her hair to tie it in,
but not sure how the photograph will show.

Here's a close up of the image.
Thanks for stopping by.
Would love to hear what you think of this beauty!

Winter is Coming

This week over at The Outlawz Paper ala Mode challenge, Fitztown was our sponsor ... Lots of lovely images ... Shocker, this Game of Thrones addict chose one of the wolves ... because after all, Winter IS Coming (not until April, but I'm getting amped up).
This is Wolf 8

I colored the wolf and background using Copics.
Base is Stampin Up's Night of Navy and Brushed Silver.
Digital paper is from Charming Digitals on Etsy.
The sentiment is computer generated, oval punched
and matted on a navy punch.  Finished with a silver ribbon.
Keeping this a bit masculine, as in House of Stark.

Here's a close up of the image:

Hope you enjoyed, and have a chance to participate in this week's
Theme:  Animals

All Dressed Up Sparkle 'n Shine

This is my first official post as a Design Team Member for All Dressed Up's Team B.
For my first challenge, I chose the image called Little Christmas Girl.  Check out the All Dressed Up's Etsy Shop for more lovely images.

The challenges at All Dressed Up are always "Anything Goes", but you MUST use one of the All Dressed Up images.  If you don't have any, Wendy always has a couple of freebies on the site you can use.

I colored this little beauty with Copics.
I added some clear Gelli Roll to the stars and her skirt, wings and shoelaces
for some added sparkle.

The flourish and heart die were sprinkled with shabby white embossing enamel.
The papers are digital papers.

Here's a view to show how the dies sparkle:

And here's a close up of this super cute image ...

Hope you have a chance to check out the All Dressed Up blog to see what the other wonderful ladies on the Design Team came up with, as well as checking out the

Little Red Wagon's Frosty Challenge

http://lilredwagon.blogspot.com/2015/01/challenge-272-frosty.html

This week over at The Little Red Wagon Challenge, the theme is "Frosty" - create a project with a snow theme - use your imagination.

This week, I used a beautiful image from Saturated Canary.  This image is called Coffee Run, and it can be found in the New Year's 2015 Special Bundle Set of 5 luscious images for only $10 ... HOLY COW, what a deal!

The image was colored with Copics.
I then added some Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel
to give a bit of snow flurries around her before distressing the edges.

Papers are digital from Bearly Mine Design (no longer in business)
and Grevic from Etsy.
The snowflakes were cute with the Silhouette Cameo in a border,
cut apart and distressed.  The frame was also cut with the Silhouette.

I just adore this image ... Here's a close up of her ...

Hope you have time to check out the Frosty challenge over at
The Little Red Wagon this week.

Magical World of Ching Chou Kuik

This month over at Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook Page, they're having a challenge - World of Magic ... First, you'll need to become a member of the Facebook page, and then create any card you'd like with a magical theme to it - use your imagination.

I created a card using one of Ching Chou's beautiful images found in her Etsy Shop called Lil Bookworm Fairy

I colored her with Copics, sorry I didn't keep track this time, as I was
testing and re-doing, and going back when I wasn't satisfied.

I added diamond Stickles to her wings and then used my
clear Gelli Roll glitter pen for highlights here and there.

The sentiment is computer generated.
The paper is digital from Sweet Pea, I believe, with a brush overlay.
I printed this image fairly large, and didn't want to overwhelm her
because she's so pretty.

Here's a close up of the image:

Hope you like what I came up with and have a chance to head over to
Ching Chou Kuik's Facebook page, or her Etsy shop to see more lovely creations.
She's having a 15% sale through tomorrow, that you'll find on the Facebook page.

Have a wonderful day!
